What have you got in your hands?
What have you got in your hands? What are you grasping in your hands every day? What are you holding on to so tightly?
If you are holding on to someone else's expectations, you will see your life become hopelessly grim because you will never be able to accomplish the task for which you were born. If you are holding on to the wounds and the humiliations that have stabbed your heart, you will see your days stripped of every possibility of living the present as you will be drowned in guilt for the past and dread for the future. If you are holding on to your pains and failures, you will be unbelievably bored and boring. If you are holding on to your earthly possessions, you will be a predators' easy prey, and enslaved by possessions, you wil never be happy. If you are holding on to the deafening applause of success and the beauty of your features, you will stop being yourself before even before you have begun. If you are holding on to stones to stone yourself, you will never know the way of love. If you are holding on to stones to stone your neighbors, you can give up any thought of peace in your lifetime. If, out of prejudice alone, you are holding on to stones to stone Jesus and the astonishing evidence of the effectiveness of His procedures, you will predispose yourself to intellectual stupidity, spiritual emptyness, and hardness of the heart. If you are holding on to stones to stone the amazing gift of life, then prepare yourself for a vilent wind storm that will throw in your face everything you have fought for throughout your life. If you holding on to stones, then the heart in your chest, the brain in your head, the look in your eyes, the words in your mouth, the desires of your soul are of stone.
