The gospel of Mark 12:18-27

Mistake

Some of the Sadducees came to talk to Jesus. Although they were faithful to Moses' law, they did not believe in man's resurrection after death's bridge, and they wanted to trick Jesus with a paradoxical hypothesis, a tricky pun. Those Sadducees did not have any spiritual desire to understand anything or to comprehend how things are in God's life.
They only wanted to challenge Jesus and make fun of Him, with the purpose to get, out of the hard time they were giving Him, a shameless confirmation of their hypothesis regarding the non existence of resurrection. Jesus, answering them, disclosed a precise and effective method to understand life's truth and avoid gross comprehension errors.
He also revealed that wisdom comes from the meditative and perceptive reading of two books.
The first book is the power of God that we can admire, stroke, approach, glimpse and gather in His work, in the wisdom of creation. The second book is the wisdom of God that can be admired, caressed, approached, glimpsed and gathered in the power of the revealed Word of God, the bible. Jesus assured us that the two books are always in perfect, absolute, preordained coherence, because written by the same divine hand and heart.
What one of the books reveals about life and God will forever and ever harmoniously coincide and complete what is found in the other book. It is only the associative mind's ignorance and stupid arrogance, preconceived and unloving, that can make the mistake of seeing the knowledge found in the two books as opposed, as they come from the same generating principle. Jesus revealed in a simple way the ineluctable evidence that God created life for life and not for death, and that who loves and believes in God cannot consider resurrection as anything else than a normal and necessary transition, because the life of God's children is life forever. Jesus also revealed what mistake man can make with his intelligence. The Sadducees' mistake is not non believing in resurrection, but having used their intelligence to doubt God and His power, magnificence and wisdom. Using intelligence to think ill of God is the most dangerous that can be made, since it reduces the human mind's great potentialities to the ones of a floorcloth.
