The Gospel of Luke 10:1-9

Endless

Into whatever house you enter, first say, “Peace to this household.” If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. The two verbs used in the Greek text are: epanapàuomai, “to rest, to be quiet, to sleep, to stop”, and anakàmpto, “to come back, to look back, to turn, to lean back.”
It is an endless task. Bringing peace is an endless task. Bringing the energy of peace is a job that is never finished. We should always and only ask if what we think, what we are doing and wishing is in every moment bringing peace, the energy of peace, or if it is bringing other energies which are not peace. There is a terrible although amazing law that those who bring peace will rest in the energy of peace they themselves have brought, but those who do not bring peace will lose it first of all in themselves. Bringing peace is bringing peace to oneself. Whether we like it or not, we have only one heart, and it cannot participate at the same time in two different energies. The person who is at peace with his wife and children but continues to bear a grudge against his neighbours or colleagues will see even the peace in his family go to pieces.
People have only one heart and they have the liberty to choose how to feed it. Every time the heart makes a judgement, expresses slanderous or deceitful things it is filled with rage and anger. This is certainly not peaceful energy, and it is illogical to think that non-peace, which comes from our heart, will bring anything but damage and death to ourselves. In the same way, each heart that is humbly looking and working for peace will surely ensure health and wellbeing first of all to itself. When there is no peace resting in the human heart, the human heart is unable to rest anymore.
