Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time

Word for today
The Gospel of Luke 11:29-32

The sign of Jonah

This generation shall be given no sign except the sign of Jonah. What does that mean? Jonah was the prophet who, by divine order, warned the great city of Nineveh that if it did not quickly make truth in God - so says the Hebrew text literally – the city would be destroyed. Was Jonah’s prophecy a threat? Was it blackmail? No. It was, as the text says, a warning, an opportunity to change directions. Jonah is thus a gift of God, a proposal for evolution, a possibility to change, but given the situation and the emergency, Jonah is also a cautionary warning, the final one.
This generation, our generation, was offered more than the wisdom of Solomon, more than the preaching of Jonah; our generation was offered the presence, the wisdom and teaching: it was offered the procedures and the life of Jesus Himself.  Jesus says that our evil generation will not be given any other sign except the sign that Jonah gave Nineveh. Jesus is the sign. Jesus offered us His own life to reveal to us the divine procedures never revealed before, as he was moved by the desire to see us build a truly evolved, happy, healthy and peaceful humanity. Considering Jesus a compelling proposal to establish a new religion and confining Him to the sphere of ritual and religion was a colossal mistake, the biggest mistake of history, a mistake that has resulted in the nullification of all human evolution and social development. Two thousand years ago when Jesus presented  His message to the world, He did not want to be part of religious circles, nor did He ever try to integrate with the confessional structures or institutions of that time because he wanted to be/present a new way of living and loving God and life, not a religion. Only a mentally imbalanced generation duped by satanic deception could have locked Jesus up in churches and not felt honored to have Him in the workshops where DNA, biology and chemistry are studied. Only an evil generation could have locked  Jesus up in the books of theology and not felt honored or blessed to have Him and His message in constitutions, politics, education, and in plans to share land and resources to build a harmonious, clean, balanced plant where we can build,  travel, work,  and love. Jesus  gave himself to us so completely that He offered Himself as food and drink for our soul and body, so as to give us energy and intelligence, health and harmony beyond desire and imagination. But this crazy and arrogant generation preferred to chew the sand of mental training of ignorance and fear and to be chained by the powerful rulers of the world. Jesus is the real and unique opportunity to change our course towards an extraordinary evolution for all  human life, for every state of life, place and situation, but given the situation in which humanity and the whole earth has fallen,  Jesus has become a sign, the sign of Jonah, a warning, the final one.
