Eleventh Week in the Ordinary Time

Word for today
The Gospel of Matthew 5:43-48

Beyond

Beyond love there is nothing else; love is beyond anything else that exists. Love is beyond conveniences, beyond common sense, beyond appearances, beyond words, beyond principles and laws, beyond all human morality. Love is beyond tears and joy. Love is beyond the enemy, beyond benefits, beyond any calculation. Love is beyond any of us, it is beyond each of the others. Love is beyond martyrdom, holiness, faith, time and space. Love is beyond justice, perfection, sharing. Love is beyond fidelity, beyond passion, beyond pleasure and happiness. Love is beyond what one can see, beyond what is right and wrong, beyond membership, beyond any complacency. Love is beyond all mental circuits and processes, beyond security, beyond prospects, beyond honor, prestige, beyond previsions and prophecies.
Love is
beyond cages and prisons of any kind, including race, disciplines, policies, it is beyond freedom, beyond one's own and others' expectations, beyond conversion, change, beyond the cross and death.
God's love is so
beyond everything that
he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. God's love is so beyond everything that on the cross Jesus poured out everything for us, his children-murderers, to the last drop of His water and blood. God's love is so beyond everything that the Holy Paraclete has never stopped consoling or defending us with kindness and grace so ineffable and unknown that our hearts cannot even slightly perceive it.
God's love
is beyond everything, because it is before everything and we are the immortal sons of this love which is so beyond.
