Answer
If Jesus is perfectly aware that in that specific ground, the seed will not bear fruit, why does he keep sowing?
If in that ground, in that heart, the seed will not bear fruit, why does he keep sowing?
If every time the seed falls on the footpath of the distracted and disaffected ones, where the birds come and eat it up, why does he keep sowing?
If every time the seed falls on the rocky ground of the anxious hearts, worried by everyday concerns, where there is little soil, it, having no roots, will wither under the sun of problems and persecutions, why does Jesus keep sowing?
If every time the seed falls on the thorns of ego and vanity, they will suffocate its spiritual growth, why does Jesus keep sowing in thorn-shaped hearts?
If every time the seed falls on a good soil – and these hearts yield a hundred- or sixty- or thirtyfold – why doesn't Jesus sow only in those hearts which will yield a hundredfold in loving, sharing and justice?
Simple. Because the seed is not a proposal, it is an answer.
Which land needs more water, the dried one or the irrigated one?
None knows how it is, but it is the very ground of the human heart, it is the Spirit which implores the seed from every human heart with inaudible laments, and the more the ground is footpath, rocky, thorns, the more it begs, implores, desires Jesus. And Jesus, always punctual, gentle and kind, keeps replying.

Mother of amen,
Mother of the answer to love,
we pray you,
pour onto our hearts
the power of the Spirit
so that the desire of Lord Jesus shall grow in us,
for a new spring
full of fruits and light.
