Second Week of Advent

Word for today
The Gospel of Matthew 11:28-30

Will it be

Will it be the chemicals that we fire into our brains that will restore our physical, mental and spiritual fatigue and oppression? Will politics, to which we entrust our social destiny, be capable of restoring our physical, mental and spiritual fatigue and oppression? Will it be buying and filling our houses with things, will it be a couch where we rejoice over the victory of our favorite team, will it be the challenge of a competition or the anxiety of an ambition that will restore our physical, mental and spiritual fatigue and oppression? Will a lottery ticket be enough to restore our physical, mental and spiritual fatigue and oppression or will we need to please or control other people, be violent, be judgmental or be an eternal grumbler? Will it be the culture to which we entrust our collective knowledge that will restore our physical, mental and spiritual fatigue and oppression or will it be the law in the courts or maybe economic power? Will magic, the school, an ocean of opinions, success, money, prestige, the cult of the image, the laws of the market or  moral principles be capable of restoring our physical, mental and spiritual fatigue and oppression?
What then will be able to restore our physical, mental and spiritual fatigue and oppression? The answer is Jesus. Jesus and the love that He came to teach and to reveal to us. Jesus is not only ready and willing to refresh us, but He is also capable of doing it. He has the power to do it. But what do we have to do? He told us: come to me, which means stay with me, listen to me and follow my procedures, eat me, love me, follow me, abandon yourselves to me, embrace me, talk with me, trust me always in every way.
