Where to look
Wherever you look the world seems to need to be completely redone. Wherever you look everything seems to be in the hands of the avid and in the jaws of ravenous wolves. Wherever you look nothing seems to escape the substitute ego predator who desires to possess but not to share, power but not justice and has taken the place of God and of love in the hearts and in the minds of man. Why does mankind continue in the same direction even if we are walking towards selfdestruction? Why? Because it is looking the wrong way. Mankind is not looking in the direction of salvation but only in the direction of immediate satisfaction and of personal gratification. To save itself humanity continues to look in the direction of obscurity and darkness of the laws, culture, economies, reglions, and constitutions dictated by human beings. Humanity cannot regenerate itself and become evolved looking only at itself and what it knows. If mankind continues to look at only its own needs, interests, and wellbeing without paying any attention to the unity, sharing, and harmony in the world in which we live there cannnot be prospects and in truth there never have been. It is more evident than the light of the sun that where man is looking there are no future prospects for life but only abysses, agony, suffering, pain, misery, fear, loneliness, death. It is evident and those who do not see it are stupid or in bad faith. Simeon instead knew where to look, he knew from what direction the light and the salvation of peoples could come. He did not look at what came from people; instead he looked in the direction of the person who became incarnated as the light and salvation without whom the world could not know the light and salvation. Simeon looked and exclaimed: my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel." Simeon looked in the direction of the newborn baby because he knew that that humanity that was dying could be reborn in that child. Simeon knew where to look, he knew where to rest his eyes and his heart so that mankind could renew itself in the harmony of life, in healing, in peace and in happiness.
