Object
The object of God’s word is not to spread knowledge about Him, it is not to create a religion organized according to morals, rituals, duties, or the observance of precepts. The object of the Gospel is not to present the story of Jesus to humanity through His miracles, His words, His death and resurrection, so that humanity can believe in Jesus the Son of God, in God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
The Gospel is not intended to be the spiritual heart of a new church, founded on the Beatitudes, nor the theological authority as the source of catechesis, sacraments, or liturgy.
The object of God’s Word, the object of Jesus and of the Gospel is to persuade, to persuade each of us to love. Persuading to love is God’s purpose, letting ourselves be persuaded by love is the purpose of life.
