As He sees
One day the Lord will grant us to see life exactly as He sees it. He will grant us to see nature, creation, the heavens and the earth as He sees them. He will grant us to see life, our lives, our minds, our hearts, our choices and actions as He sees them. It will be a terrible and glorious day. Terrible, because on that day we will see ourselves, our actions, intentions, aspirations, illusions just as He sees them now. We will see our ignorance, arrogance, ambition, power, wealth, attachments as He sees them. It will be a terrible day as we will see, unerringly and without the filter of justification, the degree of ignorance, arrogant pride, deception, lack of love, conflict and misery in which we have lived. The sight will make us suffer tremendously. The suffering will be so atrocious and inconsolable that if the Holy Paraclete, the Comforter, the Defender were not there to immediately wrap us in His compassionate arms teling us sweet words of love and consolation, we would die instantly. It will be a glorious day because finally on that day when we see our life as God sees it, the truth will shine in every fiber of our hearts and in all the synapses of our minds, like a wonderful sun that rises in the sky, to heal every disease, sin, wound and fear forever. It will be a glorious day because if we have tried with sincere hearts every day of our lives to do the will of God, we will - and it is written - shine like the sun in the endless kingdom of God the Father's love (Matthew 13:43).
The Beatitudes and woes that Jesus reveals and presents to us in this concise passage from Luke are already the clear and exact description of how God sees our lives before that terrible and glorious day arrives. It is up to each of us to decide if and to what degree we want to bear his words in mind.
