The Gospel of John 1:47-51

Angels

When we will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man, it will not be the day of the Last Judgement; it will not be the end of the world, but the end of the times for this generation. It will be the end of  an unhappy, miserable era, an era in which God, respectful of mankind's refusal and denial, almost hid His face behind the cloud of not knowing. This generation forced God to remain silent and, because of the hardness of His children's hearts, He also had to stifle the voice of His prophets. It will be the end of a violent and cruel time obscured by stupidity and deception that will lead to an era of new heavens and earths in which new men will have renewed hearts. When we will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man, it will not be the end but the beginning of a new and wonderful way to realize the gospel leading to a new, splendid, harmonious scientific, social, theological evolution. When the sky will open, the angels will prepare humanity's hearts and minds, moving the heavenly powers as no man can now even imagine, and in that way they will mark the intermediate coming of the Son of God. That day Jesus will not visit the earth as a helpless child held in Mary's arms, forced to run away on a donkey or to patiently listen to the insults of those who accused Him of being Beelzebul, the prince of the demons; nor will He come as the silent victim  of the priests of the temple or of the soldiers who beat, tortured and crucified him. When that day comes no one will be able to take a hammer and nail him to the wood of a cross. That day no one will be able to say: I do not see Him, I do not hear Him, I am not interested. His coming will be majestic and disturbing, as foreseen in Matthew 25. On that terrible and glorious day we will hide our face and eyes, not as we did during His Passion, but out of discomfort and repugnance on seeing His wounds and how He was tortured and killed. We will hide our face out of endless, bewildered shame at the foolishness of our hearts and minds. When we will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man, all of humanity, on its knees will weep endlessly, because He will show to everyone, instantly, how God sees life and all that exists. Kneeling, we will weep endlessly, inconsolably. If God does not shorten that inner, spiritual feeling in the hearts and minds of men, all of humanity would die in a few seconds. Then the angels will descend to each of God's children, and those they will find with their hearts full of and love and humbly asking for forgiveness will be held tenderly and lifted towards a totally new and renewed life. That inner attitude of love and humility cannot possibly be improvised at the moment, but must be prepared and predisposed over a lifetime. Those who will not have the love to ask for forgiveness will be found still fighting, full of rage and anger, and they will be asked to go away somewhere else because they will not be able to be part of the new humanity. The angels will have a decisive role during that extraordinary encounter, just as they had in all the encounters between God and men and between men and God.
A grateful attitude, a loving and trustworthy relationship with those heavenly entities, the angels, is always of great help and comfort in our everyday life, and will also prove to be useful in the light of that day, the day of His return.
In the history of mankind, all encounters between humans and angelic entities have been preceded and accompanied by the movements of the stars, the comets, the sun and the planets. And they will be again even this time.
