Thirty-first Week in Ordinary Time

The Gospel of Luke 15:1-10

What a difference

The difference is immense. The difference is total. When the heart of God, the heart of Love, the heart immersed in love finds someone who was lost and missing, when it succeeds in correcting a mortal deviation and witnesses a tearful change in heart with a new mental orientation towards love and light, it always rejoices with great, complete joy.
The heart which does not dwell in God and is not full of Love but is completely pervaded by an inquisitive judgmental mechanism of law and morality does not know joy and never rejoices. The heart which is immersed in morality and legality struggles and labours tirelessly to correct, address, adjust, save, improve, straighten others out, but it does not feel joy, it does not know jubilation for those who change their ways, for those who repent, for those who return to the light of the light, for those who find the way after having lost it.
That is the substantial, infinite, insurmountable difference between someone who lives for love and someone who lives for morality.
