The Gospel of Matthew 1:1-17

Mankind's spiral

Human generations repeat in history as an endless cycle and draw in time a spiral, like a curved line wound around a fixed point. Humanity is a formation, a structure that progressively presents a series of concentric circles, the generations, slowly proceding, as a spiral staircase, skywards.
That the human history is an endless but regular and calculated spiral of generations walking skywards is underlined with precision in the Gospel, where it is shown how the generations that preceded the birth of Jesus, Christ, the Messiah, were in the exact number of fourteen, grouped in perfect circles of three.
Human history doesn't unfold by chance, doesn't procede in a confused and non rhythmic way, even tough it looks chaotic and disjoined to us, rather, circle after circle, it procedes towards its evolution, an inevitable spiritual and intellectual revolution, but that can be slowed down and complicated by men's pride and stupidity. Jesus wasn't born in a random moment in history, rather he pitched down his tent among us precisely at the closure of an historical cycle, the end of a precise and carefully calculated spiral of generations. Jesus, the Son of God, was born, man amongst men, at the end of an historical cycle because his divine wish was to open another extraordinary and beautiful one, leading humanity, this way, towards the love and wisdom of God the Father. But things went differently. Mankind, even tough it was at the closure of a cycle, in an occasion patiently and lovingly arranged by God for the sake of its evolution, didn't like the opportunity offered by Jesus. Mankind was found not quite ready, violent, not in time, proud, deeply corrupt, ignorant, off-axis, off the evolution cycle. Jesus anyway opened, to whom believed in him and in his Word, the spiral of a new generation, he wound mankind around a new cycle of light and peace because, no matter how much mankind goes backwards and rebels against God, it's anyway walking on a transaprent spiral staircase that, step by step, cannot lead anywhere else than to heaven.
