The Gospel of Mark 1:40-45

On the road

Jesus, the Son of God, is on the road, and the sick, the poor, the sinners know it and that is where they looking for Him. Even the leper, in Greek ho lepròs, "the scaly one" as the text says, knew it, and that is where he sought out  Jesus. He called out to him, kneeling down, and he begged Jesus to heal him. Jesus is on the road because He wants to meet people, all people, to heal them from evil, to free them from ignorance, to inspire happiness and peace in them. The priests of the temple, instead,  are in royal palaces because they cannot heal the sick, they do not want to free people from ignorance, they do not offer happiness but submission to a divine will, necessarily linked to pain, sadness, duty, misery, crosses and deprivation.
Jesus is on the road and He announces the euaghèlion, the "good news" that the happiness of man is  the only true, real, social responsibility of humanity, that the happiness of man is the only true, real, divine will of the Heavenly Father.
Jesus is on the road, religion remains in its buildings. Jesus is on the road because people need to be happy; religion remains in buildings because happiness is part of its ideology only to subdue the people. Jesus knows that there is only one way for man to be happy again: to bring people to a new and special relationship with God. Only a new and more intimate relationship with God, the true God, can lead men to happiness. Jesus knows it perfectly, and even the demons who meet Him know that He is the most sublime, powerful, extraordinary bridge between God and mankind. God the Father had given all wisdom and spiritual resources to the priests of the Jewish temple so that they would lead the people to the source of happiness, and the priests of the temple, through the bottlenecks of human religion, betrayed this mandate; they used it for their own interests and closed the door of happiness in the face of humanity, as is explained in Matthew's gospel (23.13) where it is written: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You lock the kingdom of heaven before human beings. You do not enter yourselves, nor do you allow entrance to those trying to enter. For that reason, in the fullness of time, the Father sent the Son, His Son, to contact humanity once again to offer happiness and peace. But the priests of the temple did not even bother for a moment to realize what was happening through Jesus, they only used their power and prestige to ridicule, slander, accuse, and to get rid of Him violently.
But God's plan cannot be stopped, it cannot be corrupted, diminished, blocked. God's plan to bring man to the source of happiness and peace, was brought to fulfillment and Jesus was the last door, the last bridge, and the scaly one knew it, he knew that Jesus was his last and only chance. Happiness belongs to man, it can no longer be postponed, it cannot be left in the hands of those who have closed the doors, the doors of knowledge, in man's face. Man's happiness can no longer be postponed and those who from now on do not work with all their strength and hearts and capacities  to construct man's true and real happiness will find the doors of Life closed in their faces.
