Word for today
The Gospel of Matthew 25:1-13

It is time

The Bridegroom is coming. It is really true: whenever a heart of stone responds to love and opens up gratefully to beauty, it learns gratuitousness from sharing by investing in the power of forgiveness leading to unity and harmony: that is the sign that the bridegroom has returned to that heart. But it is also true that mother-humankind is exhausted. She can no longer bear to live so shattered within and divided without, so despoiled of beauty, so emptied of any intelligence and wisdom. She can no longer bear to see her children dying of starvation and privation because it is convenient for a few while all the rest are used to pretending that they do not see.  She can no longer bear to see her children who, deceived and blinded, soil and destroy whatever they touch out of greed, ambition, vanity and personal interest. Mother-humanity can no longer bear to be enslaved, humiliated and coerced and constantly abused by the powerful. She can no longer bear a science, politics, culture, religion that does not love mankind. She can no longer put up with feeling stupid and sad, denuded, and muddied, instead of feeling like the chosen bride of the Lord of life.
It is certain that the Bridegroom will come. But why at midnight? Because midnight is the end of the day but also the beginning of a new one. Midnight marks the end of a time, the end of a dark and gloomy way of managing life and lives. Midnight also marks the beginning of a new time, of a enlightened and enlightening way of managing life and lives. The Bridegroom comes because it is time for a new time not calculated by the calendar but by the level of wisdom and intelligence developed in love and sharing. The Bridegroom comes because it is time; it is time to embrace all those who have been waiting with faith and humility, love and dedication, even during horrible, confusing times. It is time, Mother-humanity, the Bridegroom is coming. This is the time to decide if you intend to pay tribute to your Lord or to keep paying tribute to your own stupidity.
