Ears and eyes
Ears are enough to listen and spread gossip, vanity, envy, slander, prejudices, opinions, rumors; there is no need for a particularly smart brain. On the contrary ears are never enough and they are actually totally useless to comprehend and understand the truth and reality.
Eyes are enough to watch the activity of vanity, of the ephemeral, of ostentation, of vainglory, of ambition and success; there is no need for a particularly smart brain. On the contrary eyes are never enough and they are actually not necessary at all to deeply observe and comprehend the truth and reality.
Listening with the ears and looking with the eyes while being disconnected from the heart, from comprehension, from real intelligence, mercy and kindness, is a precise mental and spiritual choice which brings man to dwell forever in total superficiality and stupidity, ignorance, hardness of heart and prejudice. It is the choice of a mind that decides to remain firmly chained to its blindness, clinging to its empty certainties and incoherent beliefs, making them the axis of its own mental activity and intellectual vision. This choice prevents man from any possible spiritual change toward light and joy. It is a clear choice not to wish to heal inside anymore, not to desire to heal our thoughts, not to change our inner dialogue in any case, whatever it may cost.
That is why Jesus shows the truth, reveals His procedures to the people, by using parables. In this way, people who are foolishly used to listening with ears and looking with eyes only, without a hint of inner wisdom and intelligence, cannot catch a glimpse as they listen to Jesus of the infinite light of His wisdom and cannot understand anything about the majesty of His Word. On the contrary, those who refuse to use their eyes and ears to spread gossip, jealousy, opinions, prejudices are ready to dip their minds and hearts into the vast and luminous sea of Jesus' Wisdom and Word and of His holy procedures. Anyone who does so will see his/her life changed completely and filled with real wealth, health, serenity and peace.
Jesus does not want to reveal anything, absolutely anything to those who have already decided, out of their superficial and empty listening, to be stupid and arrogant towards God, others, and life itself, because no one better than He knows that stupidity and arrogance, in a superficial mind, cannot heal, neither on this earth nor in heaven.
